Art Advisory & Acquisitions
Adam Green Art Advisory advises collectors on acquisitions of post-war and contemporary art, helping clients build thoughtful collections through independent expertise, deep market relationships, and long-term strategic guidance. In every engagement, the goal is the same: to acquire investment quality works that align with both the client’s collecting goals and personal taste.
Collectors come to the advisory in different ways. New collectors often find the art world expansive and opaque, and need help identifying the artists and works genuinely worth pursuing. Others have acquired a significant number of works, but want to bring greater focus and long-term direction to their collection. Experienced collectors engage Adam to locate and secure highly sought-after works, advise on select acquisitions, or serve as a trusted source of ideas about artists they should be looking at.
Adam advises acquisitions across the primary market, private sales, and auction. On the primary market, he leverages longstanding gallery relationships to secure high-quality works by in-demand artists. Privately, he draws on a network of collectors, dealers, and galleries built over his career in the art market to broker transactions for works not publicly for sale. At auction, he advises clients on valuations, bidding strategy, and how to approach competitive sales.
Every acquisition is evaluated, not just executed. The process is collaborative: clients bring forward artists as often as Adam suggests them, and each opportunity is assessed on the quality of the individual work within the artist’s broader practice, the price relative to its value, provenance, and fit with the collection’s long-term direction. That evaluation combines market data, including auction results, primary and secondary market demand, and institutional support.
The final decision always rests with the client. Adam’s role is to ensure every acquisition is considered with rigor, context, and independent advice.
